Years ago I saw someone — maybe Martha Stewart –remove an avocado pit by thwacking a knife blade into it and twisting. For, say, 35 years, that is how I’ve removed avocado pits.
Tonight I thought, “This avocado is sliced in half. I learned at the cooking class I went to that you can take a pitless avocado half, score it into chunks in the rind, then squeeze the chunks out into your salad. I wonder why you can’t just take the half with the pit and squeeze out the pit.”
Which I found, you can.
