Science Girl Reviews Products That Are Not Sex Toys

Now that I am 60 (going on 20), I have tried some new skin-care products. About four. Two were effective. The others promise effects in two months. Hmph.

The two that worked were:

Exfoliant. The sugar scrub that I used for a year only worked for a day. After that I would have even more skin to scrub off. The Kate Somerville ExfoliKate (cute) Scrub seems to take off the dead skin and leave it off for a week. And at only once a week, I can justify the price.

Face Pack. I am sure I could whisk together egg whites and Elmer’s glue and get the same effect I get with SKIN1004 Zombie Pack, but it would be messy. It is the best wattle-shrinking product out there.

See? I’m still a woman. Today, anyway.

  1. I had no idea there were wattle-shrinking products that actually did anything (vs. placebo or just sheer desperate optimism), so this is informative.

  2. I’m still too scared to used the snail-slime face pack I was given in S Korea. Worried about residue – but skin care is HUGE there so they must know what they’re doing. I should be braver.

  3. Big Dot – perhaps test it on the back of your knee? But the snail mucus would scare me too.
