Weekly … Home Construction Progress: 7/21

I paint in the basement.

This is how the corner of the basement usually looks.

This is the same corner today.

That pink table with the paper towels is the new, inaccessible, temporary location of my painting table.

After I scooted everything to that side of the basement I hung cement-dust-mitigating plastic sheets in front of it all.

This is all in preparation for next week’s futile attempt at correcting the drainage in the basement. This time there will be jackhammering, removal of cement, placement of tubes, and also the loss of ten inches of floor space all along the wall.

So, a two-week hiatus of the paint while my paint area is chaos.

  1. CHAOSSSSSS!
I hope the drainage fix does in fact work (unlike most attempts [at least, most attempts that do not involve removing an actual block in the drains][I’m saying your expectations are reasonable but I hope your expectations get blown out of the water in a good way]).
You could, of course, swap to painting a mural into your laundry room or something, if you got a desperate urge to paint. But I’d bet you can handle two weeks.
