Weekly Paint Progress: 6/4

This week the cenote went from this …

85254948-7239-43EE-8374-136FA3DC3A73
…to this …

C00072AB-9669-4DF7-9C7A-F7F47D3C6941

I need to work on my trees and bushes, which look utterly stupid and lumpy now. Maybe a little Bob Ross on YouTube. Maybe more yellow in the background. Oh, The only part I like is the stripey ground on the bottom left. I need more of that. Maybe a yellow overhang that circles around the cenote and something to make the bushes look a little less … intestinal.

Man, “loose” is a pain in the ass.

The copper bowl went from this …

8A0A73A4-3577-45E0-BA79-FDE46D16AFB1

to this …

7E381AED-E8B8-4ADA-BACB-3F3D9B135757

That cluster nearest the bowl is too white, but knowing how these things go I need to fix all the mistakes at the end.

  1. Maybe some wedge/triangle/leaf-shadow dark spots in the Intestinal Shrubbery? I don’t know.
I’m really liking the reeds/leaning grass in the lower middle-right, myself! (and honestly, on the whole it’s looking good, but yes, a little more contrast would probably help)
Re: lilacs; some of them *are* lighter than others, so there’s that; you can call it the one fluke blossom from the lilac tree that got snipped to go in this bowl. 🙂 But that’s also looking *very* good!

  2. KC – thank you. You aren’t going to recognize the cenote next week. I have big plans.

  3. Uh oh… 😉
I look forward to what you come up with! (which differs from my attitude towards many public figures, so hey, you’ve got that going for you!)
