Here are some things I would like to see on Ancestry.com:
- A new menu choice: Slaves. I am dismayed to find some of my ancestors must have owned slaves (looking at you, Dr. Thomas Walker). I started off not wanting to know, but then I gave in to my natural inclination to Face Facts and stare into the abyss.
- I’d like some indicator of which relatives were alcoholics … perhaps a little icon of a moonshine jug over the corner of their tiles.
- Also, I need a text box that would let me type in anyone’s name and immediately see my relation to them without having to go up and down any family trees. So, I could type in First Lady Betty Ford or some other alcoholic and see, yes, famed alcoholic Betty Ford is your ninth cousin 16 times removed.
