Gary’s biology degree (well, near-degree) has some benefits. For example, our shower never has mold. It has “slime mold.”
I see now there are even more descriptive names for some specific slime molds.
For example, dog vomit slime mold.
(It doesn’t grow out of dog vomit. It just looks like dog vomit.)

Bubble Gum Slime Mold, Tapioca Slime Mold, Moon Poo Slime Mold, Chocolate Tube Slime Mold, Tree Hair Slime Mold

Biology brings us yet another fascinating yet gross life form! And so wonderfully names. Thanks for the links. Fodder for conversation with our soon-to-be-resident biology major.
CHM – Let him know early that “Some lizards have two penises” is not the best bit of trivia to throw out in his first conversation with the woman who will someday be his mother-in-law.
Laughing out loud! This sounds like something one of my kids would have said at the dinner table during their teenage years, if they had known this fact.
CHM – maybe they DID know and were restrained … No.
I\’m not sure if Moon Poo slime mold or Tree Hair slime mold will be harder to get out of my brain. AND THE IMAGES IN MY BRAIN! OMG! THE IMAGES! 😀
