The new BNL CD is out!
I don’t see myself as the BNL demographic. That demo is about ten years younger and they have kids. (“Dad rock.”) Still, I joined the new label-sponsored institutional fan club for access to the good seats, because I AM the “good seats” demographic. I’m the “Usher! These front-row velvet seats aren’t 20,000 thread count!” demographic. (“Great-aunt rock.” “DINK rock.” “Lovey Howell rock.”)
One of the qualities of my demo is that we like shiny CDs. I know electronic copies of books and CDs are better for the environment. I just can’t feel the love for the bytes. They don’t get well-worn. So, when the opportunity came months ago, I pre-ordered the physical CD off Amazon.
The album released in the US Tuesday. Monday, I checked Amazon for the status of my pre-order and It said I had no open orders. I assumed I was mistaken about the pre-order, because I can’t bank my memory against Random Access Memory. (We “Loveys” are a little wifty.)
Tuesday the codes for two digital downloads arrived in my email. I immediately forwarded one to Friend #2 and kept the other so I could have a “copy,” but Wednesday I bought a real CD.
Thursday my stealth pre-order from Amazon arrived! I was surprised, but Gary could use it in his car. I tore off the cellophane for the same reason I would always open my paycheck envelope, that little fear they can just take it back from you. Then I got the mail, full of bulky envelopes containing the bonus CDs for purchasing the show in Tulsa, two for the show in Louisville, one for joining the fan club.
“Bring your CD to the meet and greet so the band can sign it!”
So, I have cornered the market in All In Good Time CDs.
Yesterday, I was at the Barnes and Noble store on Mid-Rivers and went to look for the CD, joking with Gary that it wouldn’t hurt to pick up another copy. Come to find out the B&N isn’t carrying it in store, it’s for home-delivery only. BNL does have the CD home-delivery down cold, I can say that. Gary suggested I sell my extra copies out front of the Barnes and Noble.

This cracks me up! I’m on #4, which is fine, I’m all about the support! B&N is missing a demographic here. . .good thing I didn’t check there for an album!
Rachel – It is surprising! They carried Snacktime up by the registers in the coffee bar.
