Kill the Fatted Calf! Prodigal Socks Soon to Come Home and Other Bullets

• Here’s a message from the seller of the Prodigal Pantherella socks:

Unfortunately due to a system error, the items you have ordered are currently out of stock. We will be receiving more stock of these by around Friday 4th December and can have these shipped then for you. As a gesture of goodwill, to apologize for the delay, we will also include a third pair of these socks, absolutely free of charge.

I have high hopes for the Pantherellas, since they are poised to be in a “luxury sock” standoff with the Masomething socks. I suppose I have to mention the free socks whenever I wear them and judge them, because of the new Blog Rules. I’ll find some way to mark the free ones.

• I suffered in bed all day with a monster sinus infection, and Mom-in-my-head told me to waterboard with the saline drops. I did that all day until I thought, “I wish there was a pill you could take for sinus infections.” So I took some Advil. Then I swear to you all I did an internet search on “anti-inflammatory nose spray.” Thankfully there is some made by SUDAFED which at last made me think, “You know, there IS A PILL you can take for a sinus infection.” So I GOT MINE FROM UNDER THE SINK and took it and I’m all better now.

In my defense, I was asleep most of the time I was being stupid.

• I’m debating if I should make a small-size Cupcake Tart instead of a full-size Cake Pie, but that won’t really be an accurate test. They do it on Mythbusters all the time, though. But – uh -oh – the plan is to give the test pie to Gary to take to work, and he won’t take it if a slice is gone.

Oh, and I’m strongly considering adding a cheesecake layer.
