You might remember, a few months back Gary watched The Break-up and Waitress and then nagged me for two weeks to watch it. Or, as Earl the Husband from this movie would say: “Please. Please. Please. Please. Please … Please. Please.”
And this time, I have to agree with him. Just a little. Or, maybe, just a lot. Only, Gary would never push my face, even if he’d just found I’d been hoarding money.
Here was a good Earl line from the movie:
Earl: [while having sex] Say something sexy, baby, something nasty.
Jenna: [deadpan] What do you want me to say?
[he climaxes]
Not that Gary does that. No, Gary and Earl both just spend a lot of time assuring they are first in your heart. And the Jenna character isn’t too excited about babies. We spent a lot of time gasping and pointing violently at each other.
I can’t really find any quote that captures the Earl character. Just rent the movie. It was a very sweet movie.

A friend recommended waitress to me when I was going thru the worst of my accident recovery. I thoroughly enjoyed it. How can you not laugh at Earl?

Umm…I know I don’t retain a lot of what I see, but wasn’t the Earl character an abusive jerk? A control freak?
I watched The Women this weekend…just OK.
I watched it during the longinjuredsummer months. Good movie. I loved the ending.
That movie was great! Every time she said “Dear damn baby” I cracked up. Earl was hysterical. “promise you won’t love the baby more than me.” ha!
I saw that when it premiered at Sundance. There was a doctor that had to get up and leave the movie. He was very disturbed that people would think doctors indulge in inappropriate behavior on a regular basis. It didn’t really speak to me.Have a great time on the cruise. The Sarah fans won’t be too bad. K-Dawg is a HUGE Sarah fan and she is one of the people we travel to see. Take her a birthday card, Jan 28 is her birthday.

And he is a control freak, it’s just I wont be controlled. Picture Earl married to Jenna after the end of the movie. That’s how it is..75 – watch the original. I really liked Waitress, but my over-riding conclusion was that I wanted to bone Nathan Fillion while eating pie.
Angie – I kept wondering what else NF has been in. Is he a stage actor? He sounds like he could be Jason Bateman’s brother.
