Dear staff of Seattle Grace Hospital,
It has come to my attention that your mortality rate is higher than the normal television-based hospital drama. I would like to posit that perhaps you might not kill so many people in the operating room if you turned the music down. Because it seems that every time things become critical in the OR, the music swells to the same decibel level the doctors use to converse.
You can go on drowning out Meredith, though, because I’m sick of her.
Still, I’m sure in the future television critics will look back at your show as the seminal hour-long music-video-drama.
Sincerely,
Ellen S_____ and Gary “What did they say? Is it just me? I can’t hear what’s going on!” S_______

I’m with Gary. I thought it was just me, too, but I had no-one to check with because my husband very pointedly removes himself from the room when hospital dramas come on. I was quietly thinking it was my hearing going, and pausing over hearing-aid ads in the paper. Now I can be confidently crusty and complain that the music’s too loud and nobody enunciates properly these days.
Pick me. Choose me. Love me.Yea, they do kill a ridiculous number of people and only seem to save the most extremely damaged ones. Ironic, eh? and Meredith is the reason TF won’t watch the show. That and because, as a medical student he feels a need to point out all the inaccuracies and it drives me bat-shit crazy (it’s not a long drive, by the way).
My wife is still ENRAGED over the horrifically maudlin tea-candle-floor-plan scene at the end of the last episode. She keeps bringing it up out of the blue and threatening to dance on people’s graves. Which I guess wouldn’t be difficult with the show’s mortality rate.
I pretty much gave up on Seattle Grace this season because they were sucking it big time! Went back to my beloved, The Office…however, as TO was over a week earlier than those freaks at Seattle Grace I wondered over there this last Thursday night…it was like I hadn’t missed a beat…except that Karev seemed like he had some sort of nice streak going (with amnesia chick).
I absolutely can’t stand that show. I want to punch that Meredith chick in her stupid, whiny face. This show and Ally McBeal make me unreasonably hateful.
I don’t watch much network TV, so forgive me for asking, what is Seattle Grace?
Seattle grace – is the beloved hospital in greys anatomy – and it is my fav show EVAH although you are right – I wouldn’t want to get checked in there… you won’t be coming out. I loved the candle light floor plan – just perfectly cheesy… they almost lost me this season too but the pulled it out after the strike its like Shnda spent all of the strike reading fan blogs who were screaming for them to stop destroying perfectly good TV!!! I dig cheese man. and greys anatomy – like like GOUDA BABY!!
Seattle Grace? Is this a TV show? I’m confused. 🙂
Cheeses! Are they still killing people on that show? I finally managed to stop watching after they — DVD SPOILER — killed off Meredith’s stepmom completely gratuitously, like, a year ago.Can you sue a TV show for malpractice?
Big Dot – Well, Gary actually IS losing his hearing a bit. But the noisy ER isn’t all his deafness.Katie – Sometimes even I can spot the MD BS. Mainly on House, though. The last time I was in the hospital the med students volunteered that they didn’t have sex with each other like you might see on TV. And no, I didn’t ask first. They volunteered it.Sgazzetti – And how long did it take to set up the lights? They looked like those candles in lunch bags full of sand to me. That was all unbelievable. OH, and like he’d go find Rose. Sorry, Zayrina and KC…but the rest of us know he won’t make it to find Rose. And no one will be surprised next year when McDreamy gets hit by a bus in the season opener and they don’t end up together. Yawn.Autumn – I need to catch up on The Office. Gary’s a chick, though, and he needs his Grey’s. Once Gary was watching it while Meredith was bitching about being abandoned and how she wont let people get close. He turned to me and said, “Hey. Do you have abandonment issues?” It would appear he’s completely forgotten the marriage counseling we had 18 years ago.Kim – Oh! It’s not as bad as Ally McBeal.Zayrina – Yep, it’s a serial hospital drama called Grey’s Anatomy that used to be sort of good. With a very, very pretty male lead. Raquita – It’s baby gouda, baby! It’s the cheese! It’s the gouda-ist! KC – Grey’s Anatomy. Dont watch it though if self-absorbed pretty people annoy you. And if meeting / talking / elevatoring “cute” annoy you.Sara – Oh, they killed like seven clinical trial patients in the last two or three weeks.Annnnnnnndddddd…oh, George’s wife is bisexual now.
It’s a freak show and you know it! Meredith is sooooooo wimpy and washed out looking. How the hell did she score a McDreamy? I love watching him and McSteamy, it makes me feel young again. Yeah, I know, pathetic! Karev, nice? Yeah, we’ll see!
Judith – She looked really bad in that last episode. Freckled and wasted. Karev has no appeal to me, not does the McSteamy. But Patrick … What’s his name? Is very pretty. What’s with all the pretty petite men? Clooney, this Patrick guy, all tiny.
