I am filled with boundless hope for the new year

I have been so, so sick during the middle of my two-week vacation that I now have only three days for my 9-item to-do list.

Today I began making progress.

  • I modified “Take down Christmas tree” to read “Take down Christmas tree next week.” So, that’s one thing done.
  • I actually did the next item, “Take family boxes down from closet shelf,” and I did that so well that when I lost my balance and fell off the top of the stepladder:
    • I dropped the box directly on its base so nothing spilled,
    • I fell against the wall of the closet that was padded with faux-furry opera capes,
    • And then I slid down and banged my butt on the bagged-up coverlet that Gary now stores on the closet floor.
  • Then after I did those two things, I spotted some clothes in my office closet and groped the pockets looking for the glasses I lost ten days ago, FOUND THEM, then added, “Find glasses” to the to-do list so I could strike it off.

At this rate I will be done with everything by Sunday night.
