Blog’s not done

I still need to add a link to recent comments and a blogroll. I’m still including blogs that haven’t been updated for years, because this isn’t a newspaper. I suspect all self-referential links are broken. Image files seem as sketchy as before. There are about 10 audio files that should return.

The scariest part was that I have not communicated with my domain provider — GoDaddy/Wildwest — for 15 years. That was Typepad’s job, I thought, along with paying my bill, and since then I have changed my phone and email.

The very nice lady at the domain name provider assured me that I needed to prove my identity and we could continue to the next step. “Just go to changeupdate.com and upload your ID.”

“Wow,” I thought, “That’s a really handy domain name. They were lucky that was avail — oh. Right.”

They’re the people who give out the domain names. I bet they snapped up all the good ones first.

(I also bet I’m 15 years in arrears.)

Update – I am not in arrears, miraculously, because I bought five years worth of domain fees four years ago. Evidently GoDaddy is GoGranddaddy, who begat Wildwest, who unexpectedly sired DomainsPricedRight. DomainsPricedRight sent so many emails without an introduction that I sent them to spam hell. This made getting my domain updated more difficult.

AND Surprise – I can’t reply or leave comments. So I say:

I have to do many things still, sadly. I thought things would just carry over, but some people might have subscribed to the version that said http://www.mocklog.com — Rss feeds / subscriptions are on the way.

  1. Today I was able to add your blog in feedly! (but I did have to re-add it as mocklog.com; it’s not pulling things in from the previous /queen_mediocretia)

  2. All – I lost this morning’s comment about the raccoon, and the comment about etiquette — but I sacrificed them for the return of the comment feed in the right (or the bottom if you are on an iPhone)
