I did a lot of work on the novel over the weekend. I would say three of the seven chapters need major transitions to incorporate new text, plus one chapter needs to be created out of whole cloth.
What this means is that most of it is polished, and parts are back to the shitty first draft level. If this book were a man, he would be a strong handsome man with good hair missing a hand and with a gaping bloody gouge in his torso.
He needs multiple weekends before we can get back to the fun stuff: the waxing, the buffing and oiling. Sticking by him, though.

Clearly, the book must have really nice forearms!
KC – the book does, but not good enough so I look at them and not the big gash.
… fair. I’d find that hard to ignore, too. Hopefully your repairs will assist its forearms to become the more prominent part of it again.
KC – I’m pretty excited. After the work I put in today he’s just missing a hand.
