I have been off work all week, and if things go well the next few days, I will have done all twenty tasks I set out for myself. Tasks included calling strangers and prodding lawyers and other things that require more heart than I usually have on a work day.
I still have two days to pull up 12 feet of landscaping cloth and recycle the cardboard we have been keeping in the great room so it doesn’t get infested with cicadas. Even though both things need to happen during the cicada sleep window, I should be able to meet that goal.
How should we celebrate the great cicada grounding? Shall we gather their little husks and have a bonfire?
