Ripley [Tiny spoiler]

So, I’ve been watching Ripley, the one with the Ansel Adams cinematography, and I hit a scene in which blood is washed down a drain following a murder.

I don’t know what the technology is like that finds the coronavirus in our wastewater, but how long will it be until they can find blood in our plumbing?

I know right now they can use the Luminol to go to the house of a suspect, and from there find evidence of blood and maybe DNA.

But what if they could match the blood coming out of an apartment drain with the blood of the person who is supposed to live there, and check for unwarranted blood?

I know people don’t like that. “Civil rights”, “privacy”, and “I can murder whomever I please in my own apartment” and so on. I like it though. I know murderers would just sop up the blood, let the sheet or scarf dry, then burn it in the fireplace. Still, makes it less convenient.

  1. One word: periods.
(okay, and for the men: shaving cuts, although that’s a *whole* lot less blood.)

  2. KC – Damn, you are right. It’s been a decade without a period, for me, so I have forgotten about them entirely.

Comment, even if you aren’t on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
