Thanks to the New York Times Spelling Bee game, this week I learned men are blond and women are blonde.
On further research, your male friend is your confidant and your female friend is your confidante.
I don’t count fiancé (masculine) and fiancée (feminine) because frankly you are just appropriating a French word and a French accent aigu or grave, whichever.
I have to say, kiss blonde goodbye, because this is the type of language trivia I live for, and I don’t plan to use it.

B9g Dot – you know, I thought acute but then I thought I’d better check. I didn’t read carefully enough to see Aigu seems to be French for acute. I might just have just passed it off as a typo, which would be a convincing lie, given how I type, but still a lie.
Do you really call it an aigu accent? For us it’s acute and grave (é is acute).
And here fair-haired women have always been blonde, which is prettier, surely.
