Off the List

One nice thing about the prep for this clinical trial is that it gave me a chance to review the last 23 years of my medical history.

They asked me to document the start and stop dates of any condition I have had. I briefly considered not documenting the bi-polar diagnosis that I have never bought into.

After poring over every physical I realized that the hated diagnosis dropped off my record the last few years. It fell off my list of conditions ten years after they stopped the medicine.

I suppose they figure if you go without the medicine ten years and don’t go manic that maybe you weren’t bi-polar after all? I’m not sure if that’s what I did right, but I’m glad that label’s gone.

I wrote it down anyway, just because it gave me a chance the use the “end date” field. Nice little bit of closure.

  1. HOORAY! Processing your own medical records can be a doozy of a downer; glad there was a bright spot in it and you finally got to use that elusive “end date” field!

Comment, even if you aren't on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
