New Hair

Well, after the holiday break I transitioned from the short sculpted Chimera …

… to the lighter, longer, wavy-er, wackier Senior.

The color difference is not noticeable on Zoom, and oddly, everyone noticed I was wearing a new headband.

I don’t know what it is about the headband that gives me comfort. For some reason I am compelled to wear a headband during a wig’s introduction. It settles things down for the first week and makes everything smaller, and I guess … draws attention away from the wig?

After I evolve past the Headband phase I’m fluffing up my old wig as big as it gets. Before Christmas came, Chimera, the OG wig, was fluffed up by at least 50% and those Liza Minnelli sideburns were behind my ears, and the rest of it was brushed almost horizontally toward my temples. No headband could contain Chimera! Then I put on Senior and said, we gotta clamp down this nonsense, and grabbed a headband.

Ironically Senior, the hair of my Senior year of high school, ages me a bit, but that will be resolved by the next wig in the rotation, Bob. It’s a wavy chin-length bob, way too young for me, especially with a headband.
