So now that I’m hand-editing the novel, you would think it would go faster, right? I don’t have to type, just scribble in the margins.
Nope. It takes a half-hour per page to make edits and arrows and strikouts, and then — and this is what staggers me — it takes another quarter-hour per page to transfer the edits to the digital version.
Of course, it doesn’t feel slow while I’m doing it. Still, somehow I’ve spent a week doing this and I’ve only edited thirty pages.
It’ll be Christmas when this draft is done at this rate!
