Review: Kathleen Madigan

So even though Gary bailed on me, Kathleen Madigan made me laugh. Her jokes about her parents still land, even though they’re a little sadder (her aging parents are covered with band-aids now instead of popping unlabeled purse mystery pills).

There was a good chunk devoted to ridiculing the Democratic candidates for being old and another good chunk ridiculing millennials for being young. She’s four years younger than I am, so I was not offended by either.

I laughed steadily though her act (and also the opener, another Saint Louis native who has issues with farmers – constantly with the callbacks to farmers, so he got bonus points with our city crowd).

Just in case you think I was only amused because I share the comics’ views on daylight saving time and parents and politicians, at one point Kathleen Madigan took down a shark victim and then turned to eviscerate the sharks. I truly could not breathe during that part.
