Sheet Turnover

How often does a normal human buy sheets? I don’t think I’m normal.

No matter the thread count, a bottom sheet will only last me a year. And they always wear out in the same place. Evidently when I sleep I rub my heels into the sheet like I’m a giant cricket or something. There’s always a tear there after six months. I then sew up the tear, flip the sheet around to hide the tear, and start working on the new, fatal tear.

I have the solution, wearing socks to bed, but is this normal? I do not remember this level of sheet turnover in my past.
