A slightly freaky thing happened at the concert last night.
Gavin DeGraw, who we agreed was the most engaging of all the acts, got teary musing on stage about the Connecticut killings.
He said how outraged he was. The crowd applauded in support.
He said he was angry. The crowd applauded in support.
He said “I consider myself a Christian.” And after a moment the crowd applauded. In support? It was weird. It sounded like: Clap if You’re a Christian. (Jesus will come back to life if you all clap really hard.)
He went on to say again how angry he was, and just left the Christian thing out there. But it felt like when New Jersey is mentioned on Letterman, and everyone from New Jersey applauds. “I consider myself a Christian.” “WOOOOO! Christians!”
