I crawled out of the basement this evening, annoyed at myself for succumbing to the hype. All day we heard about the massive storm system headed our way. Usually I wait to hear a storm is a mile away and headed right at me, but today I went to the mattresses in the basement after the first funnel cloud.
Of course, it appears not a single cloud touched down. I am that awful person who needs to see BLOOD ON THE HIGHWAY DAMNIT if a traffic accident has caused an inconvenient jam. That’s why I was searching the ‘net to find some picture of some storm damage. But then I found this lead to a news report:
“Chesterfield, MO (KPLR) — Sirens whaling, clouds swirling and rain blowing sideways.”
It totally makes sense, since they live on the ocean anyway. Gotta make a living.

Heh. Sirens wailing. Ocean.
On the other hand, an old pal of mine lives in Chesterfield. Have to catch up with her.
Good one! I tried to leave a comment on the news site, but they complained that I didn’t have enough cookies. (?)
Well when do we ever have enough cookies?
Whaling! Awesome.
Hmmm. Is this appropriate harpooning attire?
Hey! Today I got the whaling joke! Look at me, reading!
I think that harpooning topless is OK, but you shouldn’t try to clean the catch without an apron and gloves.
Becs- I might know her. Small town.~~Silk – website is still wrong.Allison – I agree. Unless we have cake balls.Magpie – Awesome fail, maybe.Mare – I know. Someone’s going to lose an eye.Tami – I always gets jokes days later.
Amazing painting. Incredible work.
abs – Thank you, abs. I worked very hard on my classic painting. Some people say no oils, tempera, but I’m a traditionalist.
