Miscellaneum

• “Miscellaneum” is an impossible word.

As miscellanea means, in the usual sense, “a miscellaneous collection of different things”, a single miscellaneum is logically impossible because variety and diversity(in their usual senses) are attributes of groups of things, not of individual things; for example, a populace can be varied and diverse, but a person cannot be various or diverse.

I really should stop with just one bullet. But I cannot.

• I do remember the last time the government shut down. All I remember is that Clinton kept his versions of Boehner and Reid late into the night and sent out for pizza instead of stopping for dinner. I also remember the disappointment of the tourists at the Arch (a federal park). If we could “add” filibusters to the democratic process, why can’t we dissolve our government when they just stop working? Like the Canadians.
• Speaking of Canadians, at this moment this Canadian guy on Income Propertty is adding wallpaper to a new room. All you wallpaper-haters, don’t rent any 5 grand celebrity apartments in Canada. They have wallpaper.
• Kentucky Derby panic! I do need an ensemble! I’m thinking about colors for the hat, and it seems you can wear one of two ensembles: sundress or suit that matchy-matches the hat. Of course, the sundress is out. If we are talking about suits, many women can wear linen suits, but I cannot. It would immediately become a linen suit with dramatic horizontal pleats. So, it looks like I’ll be working an ivory hat, an ivory polyester suit, and then whatever color ostrich plumes are on sale.
