Open the Pod Bay Door You Dumb Motherf –

This is how it stands:

I have studied for ten straight hours today with one goal in mind: Get a score of 90 on the Options chapter exam. I’ve been getting 80 the last three passes, including the one I just finished, even though I pointed at the screen and muttered, “81, you bastard.”

“80!” it replied.

I think this program has artificial intelligence. In the Fed chapter it would not shut up with Keynesian and Monetary Economic theory questions and now? Oh, not asking me THOSE questions anymore, not a one.

Also, I’ve noticed that I tend to get identical questions now, in a row, as if they are filler questions. “What is the advantage of buying a call?” (unlimited profit) followed immediately by “Which call position gives you unlimited profit?” (buy a call) and “Here are four option positions, all have limited profit except ______” (all together now).

So I think it’s just evaluating every question and either replacing it with something IT KNOWS I know OR else it throws a question at me I have never heard, like “If a short seller has a Buy Stop position can he also Sell a Call?” (no idea)

See, it’s thinking and switching things around so I can never get an 81, much less a 90. Bastid. I am getting that 90.

  1. Good grief, this is just gibberish. How on earth can you make sense of it/retain any of it/distinguish one bit of nonsense from another/not have killed Gary already?

  2. This reminds me of my board training tests. The actual test is computer-generated, and gets more difficult each time you get a question right, until you’re up at “Crap this is spanking me” level, which is actually a good thing and means you’re at a passing level of competence. The bitch is, the training tests are designed so that you tend to get about 65-70% correct, which does not feel good…I do feel your pain (or did once, lol). As for your 81% – “I’m sorry, Ellen. I’m afraid I can’t do that.”

  3. Big Dot – No, can’t kill Gary, he supplies the food.Mare – That does make me feel better! Evil programs.3 – Thanks 3. You’ll be the second person I call.Big Dot – Yes, thanks, and thank you for indirectly explaining why yesterday that tweet was all over twitter about how “today” was the date Doc set the car to in Back to the Future, but then some people checked and no, it was today. But of course, people in NZ probably started that tweet.Inarticulate? Yes. Seems like I can’t switch between the left and right sides of my brain easily.

Comment, even if you aren't on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
