I tell you, I have done nothing this weekend but study, and worry that I’m not studying. That’s how I’ve honored our late soldiers. But – three more chapters and I’m done learning, then I’ll have three solid weeks to memorize and run trial tests.
Until then, I have to find my little nuggets of wonder when I can.
The other morning I woke up to a Local NPR station as it was asking a question I’ve often wondered about: how did they get that great video footage of the ships in Pearl Harbor being bombed? Was it like Kennedy, when someone with a camera was there at the “right” time?
Evidently not. The footage we see every Dec. 7th was made by a Hollywood director a few weeks later. He planned to weave it into a movie with a morality tale involving Uncle Sam and his conscience, which, sadly, was cut, because can you imagine? I’m picturing a triple feature with Plan 9 and Reefer Madness.
Again, I was half asleep so that whole Uncle Sam thing could have been the REMs talking.
Update: Oh, no, it wasn’t.I must find this movie.

‘Reefer Madness’ – yes! How do I know about that?
Big Dot – I don’t know. I saw it in college, in a class, for some reason.
Gosh, I hope it was shown ironically.
Big Dot – Well, we all watched it with a broad sense of humor.
