Cloud Fusion

As I’ve mentioned before, on the way home there is a hill followed by a valley and a vista full of clouds.

I’ve often wanted to stop and take photos of the clouds, but tonight the clouds were so messed up I actually did it.

It looked like God took all the leftover clouds from the nation and just swept them into a little cloud pile and didn’t put them into the dustbin.

We have the storm front clouds, the cliched sun-beam silver-lining clouds, the etched detailed clouds in the lower left, wispy cirrus clouds, a UFO cloud in the center (from the store room of “Clouds that look like other things”) and then some low-flying wrong little dark clouds that should be over someone’s head in a cartoon.

When I was a kid I never saw clouds like this. It’s just ridiculous. Focus, God, focus!

On the other hand, New Zealand has again bested us with these

  1. Wow! I’m so proud (even if it looks like something mocked up on one of those fancy new phone cameras). Asperatus, though – sounds like a Harry Potter spell to induce projectile vomiting in the victim.

  2. I love that you post photos of cloud formations. Such layering of interesting things in this world. Such beauty in the different colors and shapes.THEN THERE ARE THE CLOUDS IN THE SECOND PICTURE!I can’t help but want to run and grab the kids and husband and bunker down because THESE CLOUDS JUST MIGHT SIGNAL AN APOCALYPSE!!!THE END IS NIGH!! THE END IS NIGH!!!!hope that not true, i got a killer weekend planned 😉

  3. Cool pictures, both of ’em.What’s up with Dave Murray this week? Monday he said it would rain the rest of the week, so we pulled all the fence-building tools inside. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, nothing. He changed his forecast to be clear until Friday. Hubby mowed the yard yesterday in the rain. Now it’s Friday and clear.I think Mr. Murray needs a new perm.

  4. Big Dot – There were sever asperaturs photos and the NZ one won hands down. Be proud! .75 – There were more tonight. Oh, and I ate at iceKitchen again. Didnt love the oyster shooters, but loved the filet.Mrs Hall – I KNOW! And it’s all over the world! Check out these 7 pics: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/gallery/2009/jun/01/2?picture=348217732Caroline – If he didn’t have a perm and had natural curl, his hair could predict the weather. Becs -You ARE funny!

  5. Big Dot – I was convinced they were in Munch’s The Scream, but on investigation not so much.
