Woohoo! Mandatory Sex Harassment Meeting Day

We have a new benefits provider, ADP, and one of the benefits they provide is a sexual harassment seminar, which we all took today. We’ve been looking forward to it since our experience with the Creepy New Guy.

I also discovered during the meeting that if you want something done
discreetly, do it yourself; if you possibly want the person fired, tell
someone else about it. I formerly thought I could go and have a
discreet little chat with HR about troubling signals, let’s say. Turns
out they jump right on any potential problem and make a federal case
out of it. (I could cite many Supreme Court Cases.)

I was wondering how to ask, “So, let’s say I have a fairly offensive hobby, something like blogging about my vibrator collection pole dancing. And, so lets say they are some people at work who know about my pole dancing, because one week the Riverfront Times elected me Pole Dancer of the Week. As long as I don’t mention the pole-dancing at work, or say to much about work during my pole dances, am I safe in continuing my pole-dancing hobby?”

Luckily, I realized before I opened my mouth that blog-reading is voluntary. So, co-workers, if my blog offends thee, pluck it out of your browser.

I really planned to keep my mouth shut tight during the meeting, but one guy in the video presentation was being quite the oily Star-nosed mole. Finally, I blurted out, “Just slap him already!”

  1. snowy, sue, Catherine, KC – Oh, you babies! He’s so ugly he’s cute! Besides, blame Melissa, she’s the one who showed it to me.Friend #3 – Lord no, in fact I realized if I were to call ADP and ask in confidence I’d suddenly find myself under investigation, probably.
