Competitive weight loss

I don’t know what I did to break my six-week weight loss plateau, but another five pounds left, seemingly overnight, as is its wont on this weight loss medication. That makes a total of 35 pounds since February.

(It’s so odd. You’ll spend one night with your fat just popping and pulsing under your skin. After a night of tiny fat explosions, you can get on the scale and the fat has decamped and the number is down five pounds.)

Gary started losing weight at the same time I did. He is not on any shots, he’s just consuming nothing but chicken soup and protein shakes, as that contains his rash. He’s down 70 pounds. Since February. And that number is verified by doctor scales. Not just Gary claiming to to have lost 35, no, 45, no 70 pounds.

I certainly wouldn’t want to go through all the health issues he’s had since February. But it is a little distressing that he’s besting me by so much and for far less money.

  1. Ha to competitive dieting! But also congratulations to you! (both for accomplishing what you wanted and for a hopefully-less-sick Gary? Are any other symptoms on the wane along with the rash?)

  2. KC – sadly, no. All his stress-induced symptoms get triggered with even the slightest amount of stress, poor guy.

Comment, even if you aren't on WordPress. Make up a name. Fine by me.
