Last week the mouse detective returned and determined that the mouse threat was gone. The cobweb in the basement was still, the steel wool was not moved, and none of the snap traps loaded with marshmallow fluff had been sprung.
The mouse caught in the trap early on was probably the first and only mouse, and he was dead. Case closed.
We tried to get her interested in the blood stain on the sidewalk, but she pegged it on the owls, and soon after that there was rain for a day and now the blood evidence is gone, and so is she.
