I was at the dentist today, and showed them my recently rediscovered photo of 1983 Gary. (And yes, then I made a guttural noise.) I haven’t done anything in the Venetian style for a while, where you make a black and white painting and then glaze the top layer with color.
This seemed like a good subject. I have no colors in the photo for reference, but maybe that’s where it will get loose.
Here we go.

KC – YES, that will require major revisions. Oddly, the forearms are real.
Foreshortening is a real thing! and yes, foreshortening looks weird until enough gets sorted that it stops looking weird…
