MSNBC teased me with this news and then never delivered. I had to hunt this down.
“Moderately to severely immunocompromised people can get another shot if it’s been at least five months since their last one.”
Per the CDC site:
Who Is Moderately or Severely Immunocompromised?
People are considered to be moderately or severely immunocompromised if they have:
-
- Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
- Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection
- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
(Counts on fingers) January 17 is my five-month mark.

HOORAY!
(that said, we’re having so much omicron here that I am not sure I’d be willing to go inside somewhere to get another vaccine dose; ugh)
KC – I can’t find a drive-up place by me, but maybe I can wear two masks and a hood?
A very-snug-fitting n95 or kn95 (such that you can’t smell some artificial scents through it; I’ve considered taping mine to my face so it can’t gap at all even if I yawn) should do the trick? But uuugh.
KC – well, I made it a point not to go the first possible day, because that’s Martin Luther King day, and more people will be there than usual. So perhaps my 95 mask will be enough.
