Outrage
It seemed to me that the opening did not go over well. Granted, I had Gary’s commentary undercutting every joke. It seemed as if they made jokes and nobody laughed, then Sandra Oh got serious about diversity and one person guffawed. I watched it again later without Gary and it seemed to go well. However, Twitter was outraged that there was a joke about exhuming Freddie Mercury’s dead body while his family was in the audience.
I get outraged at work every time two people converse while someone else is giving a presentation. If you want to have a work meeting, go out in the hall. As you can imagine, the Golden Globes makes me crazy every time they come back from commercial. The association’s president, Meher Tatna (Myhair Topknot) was discussing murdered journalists, while Emily Blunt was finding her seat and someone else was waving at a friend.
Injustice
Bill Hader did not win Best Actor / Comedy.
Benedict Cumberbatch did not win for Patrick Melrose.
The Kominsky Method won over the Good Place and Barry. (I saw the first episode. That was a comedy?)
Justice
The Americans won Best Drama.
Olivia Colman won Best Actress for The Favourite.
A Star Is Born did not win much of anything.
