If you run out of things to do, I recommend the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Factory, 2121 N Clark St, (773) 248-2570. Get the upsidedown pizza. It’s amazing.
Same side of the river as the round buildings and the Wrigley building. and the address for IBM Plaza is 330 N. WABASH, not Dearborn. The “Dearborn” came from your post because it was “Hey, I know that street! I know those round buildings! Is that IBM back there?” and Dearborn got stuck in my head.
Actually, we used the State St. entrance, so I wouldn’t have thought of Wabash anyway.
Celebratory lunches? Lunch? Huh? We were there for two to six week classes, on per diem. The guys packed brown bag sandwiches to save money, and we all worked through lunch. I was the only female in the classes, so dinner with the guys was in Rush Street bars, or Pizzeria Uno, or a Mexican restaurant up the street from Uno. The guys acted like they were scared to death that someone might hand them a cloth napkin.

See the tall black building behind and to the right of the round building? I spent most of 1971 to 1974 there. That’s IBM Plaza (330 N. Dearborn).

Silk – the building in front of the round building is my hotel – hotel sax. You can see the sign. Is IBM on the other side of the river?

And you are right of course. Got a photo of it today. Did you have celebratory lunches at Smith and Wollensky?
