I appreciate that the National Weather Service can now let us know that there is a “90%” chance of tornadoes. It’s kind of exciting they described it as a “perfect storm of tornadic activity.”
Kind of interesting how the red area is slowly pinching St. Louis between its thumb and forefinger.
CNN told people in the red area that if they live in a mobile home they should just get out right now and not wait for the sirens. Just leave. Maybe tie it down. Put the soda outside. Go someplace with a basement.
It’s sunny here. Only the Weather Channel guy just said sunshine “adds fuel to the fire.”

So some time tonight I’ll be in the basement, since we get Kansas weather four hours after they do. Or, maybe the Big Red Hand will make a Big Red OK sign around Saint Louis.

That’s one of those things that makes the anal sphincter tighten up. We don’t have a basement so could you not send it our way?

Zayrina – It’s a little like saying the sun is in the sky, isn’t it? “Tornadoes on the ground.” In spring in the midwest? Of course. And people get sucked out of basements all the time. ~~Silk – Pah. It was nothing by the time it got to us. Dog got a little scared.
I never understood that basement thing. Nothing like the entire house falling in on you, and nobody knowing you’re there, eh? I like the “lie in a ditch outside” thing. I’d have a root cellar in my back yard.
About 10 years ago I had the whole root cellar in the ground thing. Great except running blindly through the elements to get to it.

Yeah, I know that. It’s the REST of the neighborhood that falls on you. Your house is on the next street over.
