I woke up after my weekly Great Lie-Down (I used to make it to Friday, now it’s crept to Thursday) and saw on Twitter – an 8.9 quake?
I remember watching Earthquake in the ’70s with my Dad, and he scoffed, “A 9.0 earthquake? That’s absurd. That’s impossible.”
But, those are early numbers. Five people have been reported dead, for example.
And tsunami warnings for … well, let’s say it, Big Dot and Hattie and and Greenwords … and, well, everyone but Missouri.

I’m fine thank you. That’s the good thing about living on a hill (bad thing: getting puffed going home). No big wave here but a very strong surge that broke boat moorings and made at least one sink. And that’s after travelling the length of the Pacific. Amazing.
