Gary’s kept quiet last few days, since I’m not such a good listener when I’m asleep. Well, I’m awake now. He’s said two things today that I think are questionable.
On salted chocolate caramels: “The dark ones are better, because the salt flavor ‘matches’ better with the dark chocolate. Plus, the dark ones are smaller, and candy tastes differently when it is different sizes.”
On a particular pair of jeans that are the same size as all of his jeans: “Those jeans always fit half a size smaller, because they’re dark. Dark-wash Levis and Dockers always fit more snugly. That’s because they process they use to dye them darker makes the cloth shrink.”
All I can think is that 1) he gets drunk on my rapt attention and starts talking out of his ass, or 2) he is right. I can see his point. Of two versions of a thing, the darker version would usually be smaller and more condensed. That would apply to size and flavor. The more I think about it the more sense it makes.
I need to get out of the house and check in on reality.

God help me. I agree with Gary!
“Of two versions of a thing, the darker version would usually be smaller and more condensed.”If Gary’s theory is proven true, it could quite possibly rescind the popular assumption regarding black vs. white men’s penis size.
I thought salted chocolate caramels were going to be one of those things that sounded gross but tasted much better than they sounded.I was wrong.
Do you have maybe a little top you could spin, like in ‘Inception’? This could be a Gary construct where he’s planting thoughts on you…
Glad you’re feeling better. Reverse sea sickness?
Maybe darker jeans feel smaller because they are stiffer?
Speaking of stiffer, I’ve done some research on the male thing. I’ve found the relationship has less to do with light or dark, and more to do with nose length and width. I’ve found a direct relationship. Forget skin color or shoe size, ladies – look at the nose. It’s always right.
Becs – But they dye the cloth, then cut it, then they sew it. Would dyeing make it thicker? Friend 8 – Now, see, I thought Silk would get there first. Allison – You don’t like the salty / sweet combo? I’m sorry.Mare – Or like “Push.” http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465580/We just saw Push and looooved it. ~~Silk – the nose? Hm. The only boyfriend I’ve ever had with a notable nose was one with an angular nose.He was not at all angular.
I spent about 5 years working in a prison as a nurse. I have seen many many penises white and black. Based on personal eyewitness research, black men do have bigger thicker penises. In fact some of them are unbelievably huge as in “get that thing away from me you want to put it where? It will never fit.” huge.
Zarina – did you compare to the width of their noses?
This has pretty much ruined my day. The same candy does not taste different at a different size, unless the candy maker is an idiot.
I do admit that some people are idiots.
Mostly I’m upset because Zayrina is saying that a stereotype is true. That makes me sad.
I have to chime in on the jeans thing. I have been known to buy hundred dollar jeans because they don’t gap at the waist and they don’t stretch out. However, I discovered that the dark wash – work appropriate ones – always are more snug. The sales girl saw my dismay at getting a bigger size and said the darker wash ones aren’t washed and treated as much as the lighter wash ones so they’re tighter. Which also explains why they feel thicker – they’re not as broken in.
Zayrina – I as always count myself fortunate that I found Gary. ~~Silk – How large is your statistical sample?Tami – Well, she’s saying that in her experience of (dozens of? / thousands of?) Penises, that is what she’s encountered. I think a stereotype would be if you dated a man of color and expected something large. She isn’t anticipating every dark penis is huge. Of course, we would all be happier if she had kept a statistical table of her findings. Amy in StL – Okay, that does make total sense. I can see lighter fabric being thinner if it’s been bleached. I’m won over to your side! And, hundred dollar jeans? I want some! Where? Do they come in 18W?
Unfortunately, I said I’ve been known to buy them because they only go up to size 16 and I’m currently teetering on the edge of 18. They’re Lucky Brand and I really love them; I’m hoping I can actually wear them again soon instead of just looking at them longingly.
Amy in StL – Oh, I remember when my jeans gapped at the waist. Happily, my waist has finally filled in.
