I’m coming down to the wire for the big test (July 7 is d-day). I intended to spend every spare minute this weekend studying. This means study food. On Friday I went shopping for study food.
Study food fills two needs: it is a consolation prize AND an energy boost.
So far, I ate the watermelon, the bag of Bugles, two Starbucks Mochas, half the Fritos, 1/4th the cheese cubes, 1/4th the sausage, 1/4th the toffee ice cream, and one box of chocolate-covered nuts.
GARY ate the truffles, the bastard, all the snack crackers which were to accompany the cheese and dips, and the dark chocolate ice cream. May it be noted Gary is not studying.
Still to eat: Apple Jacks, Spinach dip, cheese dip, cheese and sausage, Baileys ice cream, another box of chocolate-covered nuts, and orange juice.
And, the item I completely forgot: Two entire pre-frozen alcoholic drinks.
Empirical evidence based on three test scores suggest I do best under the influence of watermelon.

Should I know what you’re studying for? Also, mmm, Bugles.
Allison – Oh, since I work for a company that deals in the market I have to take the test that certifies someone has minimal skills to work with the market. It’s just so alien to me. I don’t even reconcile my checkbook: I am not money-minded. Well, I will be returning two things I bought today, that’s a first. Maybe it’s the influence of the test.
Ah. I just started courses for a library technician diploma then realized if I had thought for a second I would have realized there was going to be a whole buncha computer crap involved. and computers? I know when one’s upside down, that’s about it. Luck!
Ahhh! I’m nervous for your test! Thanks for telling me the date. I’ll be thinking if you!
Allison – Computers are easy! You already know how to google and blog. Erin G -Okay. I’m studying every time I get worried about it.
Are you taking the Series 7? If so, make sure you understand the options section and all the MSRB rules – my test was chalk full of questions about it! 🙂 Good luck – you will do great!
Megan (hi, Megan)- Yes, it sounds like it’s at least 15% options and 15% MSRB. I kind of like options, except for index options. We have a really good test prep system, though. Thanks for the good wishes. AND WHY would you even take Series 7 when you are obviously a talented handmade card maker (see her site)?
Hello, Queenie! Thank you for the nice compliments on my cards. I am actually working on a larger collection to put into a shop later this month so that is very exciting indeed! It’s just a hobby, however. Unfortunately I cannot make millions on classy, unique, spectacular (*see my site)homemade cards for the masses…yet!! LOL. Anyway, I was in the Securities field from 2002 until this past year as a Financial Consultant. I still do it on the side, but decided to join the family CPA business as the Market is currently in the toilet. My licenses will still be good for 1.5 more years – and Lord knows I do not want to retake the tests. Hopefully by October of 2011 I will have a home for them.
When are you taking it? Sounds like they have come a long way insofar as prep. When I took it it was via hardcover books AND on our own time – and we had to walk 6 miles uphill both ways to study. 🙂 Does work allow you to study there?
Megan – Work is being more and more supportive of asking non – reps to take the 7. I really am a convert. The more I know, the easier it is to do my job.
Megan – wow, that really sounds like I’m drunk on the Koolaid.
