Hi. If ever asked again, I hate winter. Winter and everything about it. (Except icicles. The new gutters fashion lovely icicles. LeafGuard. FYI if you are an icicle fan.)
Today, however, it was windy and 74 (seventy-four) degrees. Can I get an amen.
Tomorrow will be even better, because it will be in the seventies and overcast, and perhaps even rainy. Not only have we outlasted the cold but that damn annoying sun will be gone too. I hate the sun. It’s so unrelenting. Give me a little fog, some clouds, some low-def. I’m the mom in Long Days Journey Into Night except without the morphine addiction. (A secret: sometimes I really do go without my glasses around the house, just like Mary.)
The cold tightens my muscles, the sun shrinks me, but a warm, overcast spring day makes me expand and get all soft and floppy. (This is no doubt what has given rise to my triglycerides.)

I find that doing the housework without my glasses on speeds up the job immeasurably.
You would hate living in FL. The sun just never stops. Never. I would take the day off when we got that rare rainy overcast day just so I could stay home and be all Jane Eyre-ish.
“Can I get an amen.”
Amen.
Another sun-hater here. A sunny spring is an unrelenting migraine for me.
I like overcast, misty days myself. My father looked classically English and so I think it is genetic.
I enjoy the sun a lot, but I also have a penchant for warm, rainy days, as well, and NOTHING beats a good thunderstorm. That was one of the top two reasons I moved back to the midwest from Los Angeles in the early 90s.
So… what you’re saying is you’re British or Seattle-ish in your weather tastes.
I don’t like being cold, but when I overheat I get migraines, and my car doesn’t have air conditioning. So I’m kind of screwed all ways.
Hmm. You need Vitamin D, my Queen. If you can’t bear the sun, take pills.

…
You are. A GENIUS.
Big Dot – That explains how the cleaning woman I had once could clean the house in 90 minutes. She was 90.Becs – Okay, why does the sun get all this good press? Overcast days need some love too.Kathy – Yes! AMEN, sister. Stupid-ass sun.Zayrina – I’ve been told I look English too. Christy – I love our thunderstorms!Angie – I never thought of Seattle, but I suppose I would like it. Hattie – One of my first visits with an MS neurologist was about vitimin D. a) MSers have an inability to metabolize Vitamin D from sunshine and 2) Eating more vitamin D doesnt help. I dont know why, argue with him.Elsa- She IS. And I had just thought “Where has Big Dot been?” and then that minute she commented.
I blame this post for the cold snap this weekend. Seriously, we couldn’t keep Wednesday’s weather just a wee bit longer?
Caroline – after this winter temps in the 40s make me wear my light coat.
I was in the Caribbean. I’m home now. I like to stay in the shade, but boy, the sun was better than the weather NJ has right now. So wet that ducks are drowning.
Tami – Oh, I’ve heard! Becs has miraculously had power but trees were hurtling through the air toward her house.
