A Good Joke

I was walking past a radio today and caught one of the jokes from A Prarie Home Companiom:

“How many Catholics does it take to change a light bulb?”
(in a voice of panic:) “Change? CHANGE?’

  1. Oh, crap. Everyone said that was a terrible movie, but that one joke (if delivered as well as you typed it) would have made it completely worth the price of admission.(can you tell I was raised catholic?!)

  2. Haven’t seen the movie. I was listening to the radio program on which it was based. Every year they do a “joke show” full of non-stop jokes. You can hear it at:http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/2007/02/03/And if you were raised Catholic, may I ask if you blow your nose in the Catholic fashion? Gary and every Catholic I dated, and their sisters, all would follow-up a nose blow by wiping out the interiors of their nostrils. Gary said it was the nun’s way. I was raised Catholic till five, so I had no nun nose-blowing education.

  3. Was this the one which had Terri Gross on, and where they had some intern whisper “Fresh Air!” exactly like Terri does? One of my friends told me that was the funniest shit she heard on PHC in ages.

  4. Oh. My. God. My mom TOTALLY does the nun’s nose blow! I had no idea this was a Catholic thing! She went to Catholic school and was taught by nuns. (I do not do the nun’s blow because by the time I went to Catholic school, there weren’t enough nuns to teach us so we had laypeople, thank the heavens.)
