This week Croquet Balls went from this:
… to this, which is SO MUCH WORSE.
I need to stop fixing things, like the lid ellipse which was just a bit off, and now it’s awful, but the nice thing about oils is that they dry slowly, so I wiped the new lid off.

KC – I think I need to start a rule where if I’m spending hours paintingthe same element over and over again I just stop and try another day.
That sounds like a good rule. (it happens in photoshop, too; the longer you work on a bit, the farther it gets from reality)(with the exception of non-altering operations like spending a *really* long time finding the exact edges of a particular subject in an image)
