Contractors

I have heard horror stories about contractors. People will say contractors start a job, demolition happens, contractors don’t come back for a year.

My building company (or rather my Building Arts company) came out last December, I paid the deposit, I upgraded the specs, and heard the renovation would be scheduled for spring. Since then I have heard from them once at the beginning of summer to tell me I have a new project manager. And he said the work would happen in late August.

Not heard a peep from the company since. I mean, I’m happy they didn’t rip out the back door and then ignore me in favor of more profitable work in Ladue or Clayton.

I hate to think I would have to be a squeaky wheel, especially considering that I’d be going up against Clayton and Ladue-level squeaky wheels. Could I even do that? Really, I could not even try to reach that level of bitchiness.

Has anyone ever had success getting a contractor to get off the ball?
