TWIL: Ghosts and the Brain

The Hook: Some Facebook link to some article on Cracked. I wish I learned from superior sources. I need to work on that.

Well, here. I found the same information on Wired. That’s a step up.

A woman was having brain surgery, and during one tug on a neuron in left her temporoparietal junction, she became convinced there was someone else in the room. Some speculate that this is why people “see” ghosts. Because their temporoparietal junctions are itchy.

I am skeptical, because if I were that doctor who made the first woman see a “ghost,” I would perform that experiment on the next brain I opened. And then on every brain, just to be sure.
