This week the Ball pitcher went from this:
… to this:
I knew this was going to happen: I get all fiddly with the background and reflections and now they compete with the foreground. Also, I need to lose the blue strip that goes up to the top, or else extend it to the edge of the closet door. Or make it the same shade of grey as the side of the molding. And the wallpaper reflections on the desk need to be smaller than the original. The leaf of the right flower needs to extend into the wallpaper. And then finally the flowers need more depth. Lots to do.

You can do it! Is there any way of post-facto “blurring” the background a smidge, like there is of tinting it a different color?
(but also, once the flowers are deeper [okay, yes, and the wallpaper reflection is fixed], it may all hang together just right!)
KC – I think I’ll eventually get to a white wash to knock out the background. This one is only about half done, then.
