Unworthy Vessel: In Which Canada Disappoints

I reached in a box of soda and extracted this entirely empty yet still sealed can of ginger ale.

Zero sugar? Zero soda, more like.

The odd thing was, while the sealed top was distorted, I submerged it in water and no air bubbles came out. No leak or opening.

Jeremiah 51:34

‘Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel; he has swallowed me like a monster; he has filled his stomach with my delicacies; he has rinsed me out.’

  1. That is very, very weird. I mean, diet soda is lighter than regular soda (because artificial sweeteners are lighter in weight than sugar and are likewise suspended in the soda water – we did an experiment on it during the Solubility segment of my molecular chemistry year in high-school-ish), but not *that* much lighter…

  2. KC – there was a trivia match / experiment in which we had to determine if a can of regular soda would float or a can of diet soda. But yes, not air. And the box wan’t wet or sticky. I blame the covid.
