Gary’s Continuing Fight Against the Apnea, Part II

Ok, so when Gary finally accepts he’s got to wear a mask for the apnea, there will be another problem.

The pulmonologist the PA recommended was Dr S______, the anti-hospice pulmonologist who made Mom’s last day even worse, and I don’t know how I feel about that.

At first I gave it a hard nope. Not that guy. Then I realized the man’s big crime was he was focused on patching up Mom’s deteriorating lungs. Not his fault Mom picked him to run her hospice without researching his views first. I want a doctor who is committed to Gary’s lungs.

But then, I remember, he said he didn’t read the correspondence or file or whatever he got that says, “Congratulations, you’ve been chosen to be a hospice doctor!” Big oversight.

So, Dr. S______ is the type of doctor you want if you are committed to living. I won’t have to see him. Or we could always ask for a different referral. I have other friends on breathing devices, certainly they have doctors. I need to find that out so there’s an option I can suggest if I can’t get past the history.
