Vacation Urge

The people at Viking River Cruises are sending me one brochure a week. I am only a little tempted.

1) When I think of Vikings and bodies of water:

2) Were I going to spend seven grand on a European vacation, I would rent a car and plant myself in one city and do it up right.

Instead, I read Facebook posts like: “I didn’t want to shovel out my car so we went to Mexico for three days instead” (followed by photos of Tulum), or “Baby was cold” (followed by photos of the couple in shorts on a plane).

I started to wonder, “What would it cost to go to some cheap all-inclusive place on the spur on the moment?” I was researching that when Gary burst into the room and said we needed to schedule a high-energy vacation next, since the new meds are working and he no longer sleeps all day.

That’s not going to happen, though. Well, it could happen. Nah, it’s not going to happen.

(Could happen.)
