“So, Gary, I’ve never seen you give up anything for Lent. Didn’t you celebrate Lent when you were a kid?”
“Well, you know the problem with Lent. It’s during my birthday month.”
…
“But it isn’t my birthday month. What should I give up for Lent?”

Hattie – Actually, I think the whole family scaled back on the religion when Gary moved out, then the parents became Charismatic, the one sister considered the convent, and the other became Muslim. Gary was out of the house and wasn’t drinking the water or whatever was going on there.Mrs Hall- Every once in a while he holds his own.Becs – Yeah yeah yeah. Like I have any control in this house.

Tami – shackles are not for me. Don’t fit around my cankles.
