I Develop Just a Little Bit of Color

Gary’s been out of town since Sunday, and I have been through a sea change.

My diet consists of wine, limoncello, and peach margaritas, topped off with tea-reject food. Reject fudge, reject bundt cake, reject apple-spice cake. My one brush with protein came as I was assembling the dog’s beef-tip / rice dinner. It made me a little sick, frankly.

However, it appears I now can sing. I Sang Along with Pete(!)TM, and I started to sing along with Aretha, and then I sang “What I Did for Love,” then “At Last.” And this may have a little to do with the wine, but I sound good.

Is it the wine?

Or has Barak all given us just a little bit of color?

Then again, if I had color I could have riffed with Aretha. Maybe I just have a Lena Horne amount of color.

Or, maybe, I don’t care and I’m alone in the house.

  1. Queen M, you go, girl. Sing a mean tune, kid. That little bit of color was always there, always part of you. Barack is just helping you realize it’s there. Howl at the moon! Change is gonna come? Nah, it’s here. Sing it! –Vince

  2. I believe there’s some sort of formula that figures out how good you sound by how much you’ve had to drink, and then at some saturation point, there is a precipitous drop-off. Look out for that.

  3. Vince – Sadly, I had wine tonight and tried to sing – but it wasnt there. Plus, Caroline says I am white..75 – Enjoying.Becs – Snort! I danced on the edge of the drop-off.Caroline – But I have pork jowl in my fridge right now. I think you are wrong.
