Social Butterfly

Here is what happens when you decide early not to throw a yearly tea party. The week the party would have been:

1. You attend the company Christmas party and enjoy it.

2. You attend the Yearly Company Lunch and enjoy it.

3. You attend Friend #1 Catherine the Red’s birthday party and enjoy it and her friends, which number well over eight.

4. An impromptu “Die Die F*ck3r DIE!” GNO is planned for January.

5. You will attend Friend #2s House Moving Girls Night, and anticipate enjoying it, especially since you bought Chambord and brownies for the new pan. And Cheetos.

6. Your husband gets to buy a Christmas tree, because he can’t complain the tree will be knocked over during the party.

Yeah, it’s a new way of looking at things. I just never got the Tea Party itch this year. I blame Global Warming.

  1. Summer – There really are. Perhaps the Tea Urge will hit me in the summer. Or in 340+ days when the house is paid off.Becs – I know! It’s odd, especially since Aunt Carleen died the year she cancelled her Annual tree Trim party. I just didn’t feel like doing it this year, and since Ive always done the party for myself and not for other people, it seemed silly to do it. Plus, the cold snap just didn’t hit at the end of October like it usually does. I dont think anyone missed it.

  2. I really didn’t miss one more event this month, but I would love to do tea when the mood strikes you.We could always don hats and visit Miss Aimee B’s tea room.

  3. I’m so very glad you and Marcia both were able to come! I have some funny pics of the two of you I will pass on. Happy you had a good time. I know I did! Looking forward to the Die Die F Die GNO.

  4. Caroline – Oh, no, Miss Aimee B’s is a nightmare. They put quilts on the walls to try to deaden the echo, but you still can’t hear yourself think. I think the best tea is still the place in Kimswick. It might have to be a bus ride.Catherine the Red – Me too.

  5. The Queen and I have been all over the metro area for tea and definitly the best tea place is Kimswick, Grandma’s Parlor. Rolled out of there. Food is excellent as is the entertainment (a live reading of a little story), and the costumes rock too.

  6. Hi Catherine the Red! Sorry I couldn’t make it to your party. I couldn’t even respond to the evite because I’ve been at a client site for weeks and my home computer doesn’t like graphic-heavy sites. *pout* Hope you had a great time!
